This month, Hamilton proudly celebrates 19 years of excellence, growth, and community. During a Founders Day special assembly, Hamilton founder, Magda Cullen, reflected on the beginnings of Hamilton, describing how the school started simply as “a conversation… and a friendship.”

Her words reminded everyone that every great journey begins with a shared vision and the courage to believe in something bigger. As Hamilton celebrates a particularly significant year,  welcoming its very first Matric class, Mrs Cullen highlighted just how far the school has come through the dedication and support of countless people over the years.

Quoting the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together,” she beautifully captured the spirit of the Hamilton journey. Hamilton exists today because of every learner, parent, staff member, and supporter who has contributed to the growth and success of the school community in meaningful ways.

The celebration also included a speech from Hamilton Principal, Bridget Painter, as well as a special performance by our Foundation Phase Choir. Cake was shared with all Hamilton learners and staff following the assembly, adding to the joyful atmosphere of the occasion.

The event was further enriched by the attendance of Hamilton Board members, Ralf Dedekind and Basil Stathoulis, alongside former students Danielle Dedekind and Emma Ng, whose presence reflected the lasting impact and strong sense of community that continue to define Hamilton.

Nineteen years later, Hamilton continues to grow, together.
